2025 - Round 8 Results - We Grind
/Six of the early-week favourites got up this week, and this score was registered by all but two of the Head-to-Head Tipsters, MoSSBODS_Marg and Home Sweet Home, who both snagged seven.
That left MoSHPlay still four tips clear of the field and now on 56 from 71 (79%).
The all-Tipster score came in at 6.2 from 9, which took the season-long all-Tipster performance to 49 from 71 (69%).
Margin prediction was, on average, almost 9 points per game harder this week, but easiest for ENS_Linear, whose mean average error (MAE) of 28.6 points per game was over half a point per game better than next best, Bookie_3’s 29.2 points per game. MoSSBODS_Marg after a couple of weeks of impressive precision was this week worst at 32.8 points per game and, as a consequence it still sits in last place.
The all-Predictor average was 30.4 points per game, which left the season-long average at 28.7 points per game.
The round-by-round history of Margin Predictor rankings appears below.
Log probability scores were all positive again this week, with MoSSBODS_Prob once again best, ahead of Bookie_LPSO and then Bookie_RE.
MoSSBODS_Prob still heads the Leaderboard ahead of MoSHPlay_Prob and then MoSHBODS_Prob.
WAGERING
All three Funds turned a profit this week, although those from the Head-to-Head and Line Funds were only small. Particularly pleasing - although not especially lucrative - was the Overs/Unders Fund performance, which almost cut in half its season deficit.
Overall, the Combined Portfolio finished up by 1.5c for the week, leaving it up by just under 25c on the season, that from a 30% ROI on a 0.82 turn.
