2025 - Round 7 Results - Progress

Seven of the early-week favourites got up this week, but only three of the Head-to-Head Predictors registered that score. MoSHPlay_Marg tipped the two successful underdogs to finish with a perfect score, while the two other MoS Predictors landed eights. Worst was Consult the Ladder’s five, just ahead of the RSMP twins’ sixes.

MoSHPlay now finds itself four tips clear of the field on 50 from 62 (81%).

The all-Tipster score came in at 7 from 9, which took the season-long all-Tipster performance to 42.8 from 62 (69%).

Margin prediction was, on average, almost 14 points per game easier this week, but easiest of all for (yet again) MoSSBODS_Marg, whose mean average error (MAE) of 19.8 points per game was almost half a point per game better than next best, MoSHPlay_Marg’s 20.3 points per game. MoSSBODS_Marg still sits in last place, however.

The all-Predictor average was 21.7 points per game, which left the season-long average at 28.4 points per game.

The round-by-round history of Margin Predictor rankings appears below.

Log probability scores were all positive this week, with MoSSBODS_Prob once again best, ahead of MoSHPlay_Prob and then MoSHBODS_Prob.

MoSSBODS_Prob now heads the Leaderboard ahead of MoSHPlay_Prob and then MoSHBODS_Prob. Let’s hope the MoS trio continue to build a buffer before the inevitable bookie-based algorithms assault.

WAGERING

Once again, both the Head-to-Head and Line Funds returned profit this week, which was again enough to ensure that the Combined Portfolio turned a profit despite a 2 from 4 effort from the Overs/Unders Fund, which continues to have a horror season.

Overall, the Combined Portfolio finished up by just under 7c for the week, leaving it up by just over 23c on the season, that from a 30% ROI on a 0.77 turn.
