2026 - Round 26 Results - Reduced to a Trickle
/Two favourites won and two lost ithis week, but none of the Head-to-Head Tipsters predicted all four of those outcomes. Best were MARS_Marg, the MoS twins, Consult the Ladder, and the Home Sweet Home who all scored three.
That had no effect on the top of the Leaderboard where Bookie Knows Best and ENS_Linear still lead RSMP_Simple by five tips, which means that, at worst, they can only now be equalled.
The leaders are now on 159.5 from 213 (75%) and the all-Tipster average score for the round was 2.6 from 4, taking the season-long figure to 150.2 from 213 (71%).
Margin prediction was, on average, much harder this week, with mean absolute errors (MAEs) ranging from MoSHPlay_Marg’s best of 28.5 points per game to Bookie_3’s worst of 40.8 points per game.
Bookie_LPSO remains in top spot but now is less than 10 points ahead of RSMP_Weighted, with RSMP_Simple just under three goals further back. MoSHPlay_Marg remains in last place, but now by just over 25 goals.
The all-Predictor average for the round was 35.1 points per game and took the season-long figure to 25.3 points per game.
In a pleasant switch of fortunees, log probability scores were all negative this week for the bookie-based models and positive for the MoS-based. Best was MoSHPlay_Prob and worst Bookie_RE, although the three bookmaker-based scores were very similar.
Bookie_LPSO still holds top spot, but MoSHPlay_Prob is now only a fraction behind. MoSHBODS_Prob has taken third spot, relegating Bookie_RE into fourth. MARS_Prob remains in last place.
The week’s entire wagering effort was two line bets, the larger of which was a loser and the smaller of which was a winner. As such, the Combined Portfolio fell for the third straight week.
The Combined Portfolio fell by 0.4c to now be up by 10.6c on a +5.5% ROI and a 1.95 turn.
