2025 - Round 25 Results (Finals Week 1) - Cat Friendly
/It’s been a while since the teams in 2nd, 4th, 7th and 8th prevailed in the first week of the men’s Finals - about 19 years if my data is correct.
Those wins have moved teams from 7th and 8th to 42% records in Week 1, teams from 4th to a 27% record, and teams from 2nd to a 69% record.
They also meant that the Head-to-Head Tipsters all scored only 1 from 4, which took their season-long collective collective average record to 147.1 from 211 (70%).
MoSSBODS_Marg produced the round’s best MAE of 20.6 points per game, which was more than 2 points per game better than the next-best in MoSHPlay_Marg.
The all-Predictor average was 23.7 points per game, which left the season-long average at 26.3 points per game.
The round-by-round history of Margin Predictor rankings appears below, and shows the Top 5 Predictors of ENS_Linear, MoSHPlay_Marg, Bookie_LPSO, RSMP_Simple, and Bookie_Hcap remaining unchanged, with RSMP_Weighted now elevated into 6th.
Log probability scores were all negative this week, but only just for MoSSBODS_Prob
The Leaderboard ordering remained unchanged, however, with Bookie_LPSO in 1st, Bookie_RE in 2nd, and MoSHPlay_Prob in 3rd.
WAGERING
The Cats’ solid win all but assured Investors of a profit this week, and that profit came in at 2.7c as all three Funds finished in green ink.
Overall, the Combined Portfolio is up by just over 10c on the season, that from a +4% ROI on a 2.4 turn.
