2025 - Round 21 Results - Whoomp (There It Is!)

Eight of the nine early-week favourites were successful this weekend, which, now coupled with the customarily low levels of contrarianism, saw correct tips scores of eight, excepting Consult the Ladder’s seven.

That left MoSHPlay_Marg still two tips clear of Bookie Knows Best in 1st, and ENS_Linear still three tips futher back from BKB in 3rd.

The all-Tipster average score came in at 7.9 from 9, which took the season-long all-Tipster average performance to 125.4 from 179 (70%).

Margin prediction was, on average, around 4-and-a-half points per game easier than last week, and easiest of all for MoSHPlay_Marg (for the second week running), whose mean average error (MAE) of 27.2 points per game was almost two-and-a-half-points per game better than next best MoSSBODS_Marg’s 29.7 points per game. Bookie_9 recorded the worst MAE this week at 32.5 points per game.

The all-Predictor average was 30.5 points per game, which moved the season-long average to 26.3 points per game.

The round-by-round history of Margin Predictor rankings appears below, and shows ENS_Linear retaking the lead from Bookie_3, and MoSHPlay_Marg elevating itself into 3rd, now less than two goals from the lead.

In other moves, Bookie_9 fell back into 8th place, allowing the RSMP twins to fill 6th and 7th places.

Log probability scores were all very positive and very similar again this week, with Bookie_OE narrowly worst and Bookie_LPSO narrowly best

At the end of it all, unsurprisingly the ordering of the Leaderboard is unchanged, with MoSHPlay_Prob in 1st, Bookie_LPSO in 2nd, and Bookie_RE in 3rd ahead of MoSHBODS_Prob. MoSSBODS_Prob still sits in last place.

WAGERING

At last, after a dozen weeks on red ink, a profit, and a large one, almost entirely thanks to the Line Fund.

The week’s 8.2c profit dragged the overall Combined Portfolio into a season profit of 5.2c, that from a +2.7% ROI on a 1.91 turn.
