2011 MARS Ratings After Round 11

It's still all Collingwood and Geelong atop the MARS Ratings leaderboard as these two teams have now established a 20 Ratings Point gap on the rest of the field.

The teams now placed in the top 5 positions all gained Ratings Points over the course of the round, and 4 of the 5 teams now placed in the bottom 5 positions all shed Ratings Points, the fifth of them, Richmond, neither gaining nor shedding due to its having the bye. This has served to stretch out team Ratings, so much so that the Ratings Point gap between 4th and 14th now stands at over 37, an increase of 10 Ratings Points in just two rounds.

Eight teams changed positions on the ladder this week. Sydney were the major climbers, up 3 spots after knocking off the Lions at home by a healthy margin. Melbourne, the Roos and the Tigers were the other teams to gain positions. They each rose 1 place.

Essendon and Adelaide were the only teams to drop multiple places. They each fell 2 spots on the back of similarly-sized losses in Round 11. The Saints and the Lions each fell 1 position.

On recent form, Hawthorn, West Coast and Carlton have been the largest Ratings Point accumulators having each gained about 8 Ratings Points or more across the last 5 rounds. The Gold Coast, Port Adelaide and the Dogs have been the teams surrendering Ratings Points with the greatest abandon. They're each down by 8 Ratings Points or more across those same 5 rounds.
