Read MoreAgain this week I'll refrain from any lengthy commentary until such time as bye-season has ended and all teams have played the same number of games.
Read MoreWith six teams having now played fewer games than the other 12, I'll refrain from providing any lengthy commentary about the most-recent MoS Team Dashboard, which appears below.
Read MoreDespite winning by over 100 points this week, the Hawks still have the smallest percentage of any of the teams in the Top 8, having conceded about 20 or 30 goals more than any team except Adelaide, and having scored about 20 goals fewer than them.
Read MoreThe latest Team Dashboard appears below.
Read MoreAfter the Roos dropped their first game of the season they find themselves having scored fewer points than seven teams below them on the ladder, and having conceded more points than the five teams filling positions 2nd through 6th.
Read MoreThis week we'll be looking at the rank correlations between teams' competition ladder positions and their ranking on various of the metrics on the MoS Team Dashboard.
Read MoreAll of the top 10 teams on the competition ladder now sport percentages greater than 100, and all but Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs have averaged more than 100 points per game.
Meantime six of the seven teams filling the bottom spots on the ladder have themselves conceded, on average, at least 100 points a game with Essendon, the lone exception, only falling five points short of joining the list.
Read MoreSo, we're now 7 rounds into the competition. Time then to look at the MoS Team Dashboard and call out the major differences for every team between their ladder position and their ranking on the various metrics:
The teams that now comprise the competition's Top 8 have only 12 losses this season amongst them, which is one loss fewer than the teams in just the next 4 places have accumulated.
Read MoreSo now we've a team that's 5 and 0 and atop the competition ladder with a percentage that ranks it 5th-best, and another team that's 0 and 5 at the foot of the ladder with a percentage that ranks it only 4th-last. Curious times.
Read MoreSo the Roos are now the only team with an unbeaten record, yet have only the 8th-best percentage in the League and have conceded the 4th-highest number of Scoring Shots per game.
Read MoreSo we now have a gloriously symmetric competition ladder with three undefeated teams, six teams with 2 and 1 records, six more with 1 and 2 records, and three teams yet to register a victory.
Read MoreStill not a lot to talk about after just two rounds of the season.
Read MoreIf you're new to MoS and this is the first Team Dashboard you're reading, you might want to check out this post from 2011, which explains what was was in the original Dashboard, as well as this post from later in that same year, which explains the Win Production Function that I added to the Dashboard a little later.
Since we've had just the one round, there's not a lot to talk about from the Dashboard, so I'll limit myself to noting that only three teams are yet to lose a quarter (Gold Coast, Sydney and West Coast) and only three teams, their opponents, are yet to win a quarter (Essendon, Collingwood and Brisbane Lions).
This being the final Team Dashboard for the season there'll be extended analysis.

Read MoreThis week, seven of the eight teams currently filling Finals positions won, the most we could have expected since 1st and 2nd were paired off.
Read MoreFremantle continues to do enough to snare the four competition points but not improve its scoring statistics sufficiently to bring them into line with their enviable winning percentage.
